I love it when I’m starting to prepare and get started on packing for my Disney cruise! It makes it all the more real and means that my magical vacation is almost here! I bet you’re probably in this phase right now and deciding what you’re bringing on board. To help with this, I would be happy to answer your question regarding bringing your Dyson Airwrap on board.
Jessica, this is a question I’ve wondered about myself previously when
packing for a Disney cruise, and a very common question that I’ve been asked by friends and family. Unfortunately, no, your Dyson Airwrap cannot be brought on board, as the electrical system on board Disney Cruise Line cannot support it. Hairdryers must be 220V/2000 watts max or 110V/1500 watts max (230V/2000 watts max on board the Disney Adventure) in order to be supported by the electrical system, as outlined in the
Prohibited and Restricted Items list.
However, let me also be the first to assure you that this doesn’t mean the end of good vacation hair! While you can’t bring a Dyson Airwrap, you are able to bring other hair tools that are
supported by the electrical system. When I’m packing my hair tools, I always double-check the wattage and voltage limits mentioned above that are listed in the Prohibited and Restricted list. I’m also reassured because there’s a standard hairdryer in every single stateroom that can be used by guests. This has saved me many times on many occasions, and sometimes I don’t even bother using the hair tools I brought because it’s a great hairdryer!
I’m not sure which ship you’re sailing on as I don’t know your arrival date, but if you’re headed on board the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, or Disney Destiny, there is also a convenient hair salon on board called
Untangled (cute, right?!), just in case you would like to do a special hairstyle for a special event, or just a casual Disney cruise evening!
Senses Spa and Salon on board the Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, and Disney Fantasy also offers a few hair salon services, such as blow-dries, haircuts, and updos.
