Going to DWD 6/10-6/16 and staying at ALK first day have ADRs at Jiko at 5:50 and the flight lands at noon. My mom wants to go to a park during that time but I'm not sure we'll have time. What do you think? Suggestions beyond a park? Thanks love the panal!

    Hi Beth,

While I understand your mother's excitement and her desire to get to the parks, I think I'm more inclined to agree with you on this one.  If your flight doesn't arrive until noon, you won't get to your resort until around 1:30 - that's assuming everything goes smoothly at the airport.  With travel time to and from a park, you would probably only be able to enjoy a couple of hours in the parks.

I think it would be more enjoyable to head to Downtown Disney for a couple hours of shopping and a light lunch.  There are a lot of new stores to check out.  Design-A-Tee and TrenD are two of the newest. If the weather permits, you may even want to try Characters in Flight, the new tethered hot air balloon ride.

If you've never been to Jiko, you're in for a real treat! This is one of my favorite restaurants ever!

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
