We will be at DW this year for my husband's birthday & we are hoping to get reservations for the luau for his birthday. Are there any other sugestions that you could make for a birthday for an adult at DW? We would like to play it up for the kids.

    Hi Laura,

I am so excited for you to be celebrating your husband's birthday as a family in Walt Disney World. Firstly, the kids will get a huge kick out of dad wearing a "birthday button" throughout his vacation, so be sure to request one when you check in or at Guest Relations in the front of each Disney Park. If he's at all concerned over turning a year older, the Disney Cast Members will likely remind him of his birthday at every turn! Where else can you celebrate your birthday like a kid?

Secondly, good job on booking a dinner show! Another fun option to consider is the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. The kids will love hearing the folks at the Hoop-Dee-Doo recognize dad's special day! Upon booking any of your dining reservations, including Dinner Shows, I'd recommend mentioning the birthday celebration. You can book online or by calling 407-WDW-DINE, 407-939-3463. Reservations to Walt Disney World dining locations are highly recommended.

Disney Floral and Gifts might be a nice way to celebrate as well, as I can attest to the beautiful, personalized arrangements tailored to guests' preferences. Simply call 407-WDW-GIFT or 407-939-4438 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. 7 days a week to discuss the options.

Have you considered booking a specialty cruise? Check out the link provided for the many options to set sail under the Fireworks for a magical, celebratory birthday, certain to provide your family a memorable evening.

Last but not least, I'd recommend calling the cake hotline at 407-827-CAKE. Wherever you dine on your husband's birthday, you'll likely want him to make a wish for many more family moments comparable to those you'll experience on your Walt Disney World vacation.

I'm limited in space, Laura, but visit me again for any other questions coming to mind.
