At DW in 03/09 shopping at a store & they said they would no longer be using plastic bags on 12/31/09. Did this happen? Do I carry reusable bags on our trip. When they deliver the bags to our hotel will they use our reusable bags?

    Hi Amy,

I love that you are thinking green and planning ahead!  Disney is very geared towards conservation and going green in a lot of ways.  I was just at Disney in May and they were still using plastic bags.  There are reusable bags that are relatively inexpensive available for purchase near most registers.  You are most than welcome to bring your own reusable bags to use while at WDW.  I always take a large reusable bag when I'm shopping at Downtown Disney.  Not only is it good for the environment but it makes it a lot easier to carry around all my magical purchases so that I don't have to keep up with so many bags.

I've never tried to use a reusable bag when I have had my purchases delivered to my resort or having them transported to the Package Pickup locations in the parks so I'm not sure if this is an option or not.  Even if it is, I'd probably opt for a plastic bag because they staple your information to the bag and use enough staples to make sure its securely fashioned.  That may be more difficult with a reusable bag - especially if you plan to reuse it again.

Keep up the great green work!  Wishing you many magical memories :-) Allison
