Welcome to planDisney, Casey!
I’m so happy to be hearing from you AND I’m really excited to hear that you’ll be taking your little Mouseketeer along with you, your husband, and your sister! You’re going to have a wonderful time making memories. Disney World really is The Most Magical Place on Earth.
I have a 4-year-old and a 15-month-old so I am a self-proclaimed
Rider Switch expert! This is such a wonderful service that Disney offers, and I’m really happy to be helping you understand it today!
On rides that your 19-month-old is not permitted to ride, here is how Rider Switch will work:
-First, visit the Cast Member near the entrance of the attraction that you’ll be experiencing (they are usually holding a tablet)
-The Cast Member will ask to scan the ticket of the person who will be waiting out with the child
-The Cast Member will then ask to scan the ticket of the person who will be riding WITH the person who will be waiting with the child
-The person (or persons) going on the ride first will enter the standby queue while the other person (or persons) wait out with the child
-Once the first rider (or riders) get off of the ride, the second round riders will enter the Lightning Lane queue by scanning their tickets that have the designated Rider Switch entitlement for that attraction
You will have the choice to have your sister go with your husband on the ride and then she could ride with you again using the Rider Switch entitlement. Or you could have your sister wait out with you while your husband stands in the standby line and then you two can ride together. You can mix and match that situation however you’d like to. Disney does its best to make sure nobody has to ride alone! And it’s fun for people to ride twice if they’d like to!
I hope you have a wonderful trip. Remember to utilize the
Baby Care Centers for your little one — they come in handy on hot days!
If you have any additional questions, we hope to hear from you again soon!
