Hi, DW in 1/8/14 for 4 nights. 2 adults and 3 kids (9,8,8). I trying to decide which resort to stay at. looking for a moderate resort /value resort that has easy access to the 4 parks, roomy, great pool. 1st time, Big Mickey and friends fan. Any Ideas?

    Hi Melissa!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

This is a great question.  Only the Disney Deluxe Resort and Disney Deluxe Villas have really good locations within Walt Disney World.  The Disney Moderate Resorts and Disney Value Resorts are all about the same with regards to getting to a theme park, though that isn't exactly true; some have better bus service and some are physically closer to one park than another.  However, you will basically be taking a bus from a Disney Moderate or Disney Value Resort to a theme park.

All of that said, I love Disney's Port Orleans Riverside.  It is a Disney Moderate Resort and it has great theming, a good food court, and a fabulous boat service to Downtown Disney.  Taking the boat to Downtown Disney is a relaxing way to get there, and a lot of fun at night.  The resort is huge but still has good bus service to the theme parks.  Some of the other Disney Moderate Resorts are too large in my opinion unless you have a car.

For a Disney Value Resort, I love Pop Century if you are looking for a standard room and the Art of Animation Resort if you are looking for a Family Suite.  With 3 children in the family, I would definitely recommend that you consider staying in a Family Suite or getting two standard rooms at Pop Century.  My preference would be a Family Suite at the Art of Animation Resort.  It is a brand new resort with a great food court, great theming, and a fantastic pool.

This is a hard decision.  Good luck and please write back with more questions!
