    We will be going to DW next week and are part of the Magic Band Trial. I was wondering when you use the band at a restaurant if you will have the option to use the dining plan or charge to the room?

    Hello James!

    I recently had the opportunity to use the Magic Bands and loved the convenience of them.  They were a huge hit with our group of friends. I will warn you, if you are traveling with other people you will be fighting over who gets to open the door to your room.  It really is that cool. 

    One of the best parts of the Magic Band is using it for purchases.  If you assign a credit card to your resort room then you may also use the Magic Band to pay for your food and other purchases.  In fact when dining at a table service restaurant if you want to use your dining plan for the meal credit, but use the credit card for the gratuity and other items not on the dining plan you can do that too with the Magic Band!  Simply tell your server how you would like to pay. 

    Here is a link that has FAQ's for the Magic Bands.  Keep in mind that Disney is still making modifications and enhancements to the Magic Band system so check back from time to time.
