Going to DW in May; me, hubby, 15 y/o girl, and 5 y/o boy. Pretty much decided on 3 day PH, skipping Epcot, staying at AofA. Many ?s, but for now 1) is dining plan worth the $, 2) are character meals a must, 3) how doable is going to room midday to rest?

    Hi, Jennifer!

Thanks so much for sending these great questions to us at Disney Parks Moms Panel!

You are in for such an exciting tour of Walt Disney World, and your extra planning is sure to sprinkle pixie dust throughout the course of your stay.

My family and I often purchase a Disney Dining Plan for our Walt Disney World vacations because we like the freedom it provides regarding dining and budget. No worries over a surprise on the bill when sitting down to dine; with the exception of gratuities, everything is prepaid! While on vacation, we like to relax for an hour and enjoy one nice, leisurely meal a day, and the Disney Dining Plan is one way to ensure that I schedule in some of that delicious downtime daily.

In addition, you can use some of those Table-Service entitlements for Character Dining Experiences. For my family, dining with the characters is doubly worth it. The food is always delicious AND we can meet some characters without having to wait in line to do so; when Character Dining, those characters come to you!

As far as heading back to your Walt Disney World Resort hotel for a little rest midday? That, too, is one of our favorite features. Even better for you? You have selected to stay at Disney's Art of Animation Resort, which is one of several Walt Disney World Resort hotels that are connected to Disney Skyliner. This super-efficient--and fun--gondola system will whisk you away to Disney's Hollywood Studios and the International Gateway of Epcot. Using the Disney Skyliner, you'll now also have easy access to Disney's BoardWalk which features some of our favorite dining locations.

Happy planning, Jennifer! Be sure to send us more questions as you think of them, too. We love to help!
