Going to DW in May with gf and 2 friends on DVC with DP. Resort hop from BL to AKL last night of trip. How would I get my last day of tix if my first Key to The World Card expires the night I check out of BLT? I would like my tickets on 1 kttw card if poss

    Hello Jeremy!

You are in for such a treat at both Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort as well as at Animal Kingdom Lodge!  Both are such distinctly different, but equally stunning, properties!

I called Disney Vacation Club Member Services about your question, and have mostly good news for you.  At your resort, Guest Services can move your park tickets over from your old Key to The World Card to your new one. Your luggage, too, can be transported by Bell Services from your first resort to your new resort!  Just tell Bell Services at BLT that you are transferring to AKL(be sure to specify if it's Jambo House or Kidani Village). Then, spend the day in the parks as you normally would and, upon your arrival at AK, your luggage will be waiting at Bell Services.

The only downfall of a resort switch is that you are technically checking out of one property and into another.  This means that the entitlements from your Disney Dining Plan which are attached to your first reservation will expire at midnight on the night that you've checked out from BLT.  This isn't a problem as long as you remember to use those old Key to the World Cards until those entitlements are used up throughout that day (and night) of transition.  Fortunately, the several times we've stayed at BLT, our Key to the World Cards were light blue; our three stays at AK provided us with yellow / orange Cards, so these should be easy for you to tell apart (in addition to the dates on each).

Enjoy your upcoming vacation at Walt Disney World!  Again, you are sure to be "wowed" by all of the spectacular elements of your two resorts as well.  Let me be the first to say "Welcome Home!"
