Hi Michael,
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with a question about your upcoming stay at
Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. My family always gets a kick out of hearing the Call to the Post playing over the speakers and spotting portraits of Disney’s most famous horses in the Carriage House lobby. It’s those little touches that make the resort feel so special.
Saratoga Springs is a sprawling resort, but one of the things really I love about it is how it is easily walkable. There are a several different sections, but key areas like the Carriage House,
The Artist's Palette (Quick Service restaurant) and
High Rock Spring Pool are all centrally located and easy to get to on foot. It makes exploring the resort feel relaxed and convenient.
When my family stays in a non-preferred room and we don't have a vehicle, our favorite area to stay is the Grandstand. It's a quick walk to the Carriage House - we stayed in the furthest Grandstand building last week, and it was not even a 5-minute walk to the Lobby. We also like that it is the first bus stop at the resort, so even if a bus is full when it arrives, Guests will be getting off and seats should be available.
If you prefer a specific area of the Resort, you can either call to make the request or note it during online check-in. My family has had great luck with room requests at Saratoga Springs, though it’s always based on availability. When you check in through the
My Disney Experience app, you’ll see an option to prioritize either your preferred room location or having your room ready earlier - choose what matters most to you.
I hope this information helps with your planning, Michael. If you end up in the Grandstand, you'll be near a lovely Quiet pool with a small splash area for kids. It's a great place to relax! Enjoy your stay at Saratoga Springs, and if other questions come to mind, feel free to reach out to us again at
planDisney. We'd love to help make your planning smooth and fun!
See ya real soon,
Candace
