Hi Emily, and thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with this great question.
Fall is great time for travel to Walt Disney World. Temperatures are more moderate, the theme parks tend to be less busy as the kids are back in school, and there are a number of special events taking place, including the
Epcot International Food & Wine Festival and
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom.
If you are planning on touring
Magic Kingdom on a day when there is a scheduled Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, to my mind that is a good touring choice. In fact, I am planning to tour the exact same way during my upcoming September trip. In general I find Magic Kingdom tends to be less busy on these days. Guests not having Park Hopping privileges associated with their ticket tend to avoid coming to Magic Kingdom on these days since they will be required to exit the Park prior to the Party getting underway at 7 p.m. Similarly, many Party guests tend to either avoid using a park ticket that day, or arrive later in the day so they can stay out late in order to fully enjoy the Party. As a result, I have personally found it very pleasant to tour Magic Kingdom on Party days.
Emily, I do hope at some point during your trip you will have the opportunity to attend one of the Parties. This Spooktacular annual celebration is one of my favorite special events, and a definite "Must-Do" for my family. Guests have frequently asked whether this event is worth the cost of admission, and I answer with a resounding "YES" every time!
Happy trip planning, Emily, and Boo-To-You!
