We will be going to DW for Christmas, my 85 year old father and 76 year old mother will be traveling with us. My dad can't stand for long periods or walk long distances. What is the best way to move around?

    Hi Margaret,

I have a Christmas Eve birthday and am a bona fide "holiday junkie".  I cannot think of a better place to enjoy this time of year than with family at Disney!  The parks and resorts are transformed into a beautiful wonderland that's hard not to fall in love with.

To ensure that your dad is able to enjoy the parks and his vacation as much as possible, I would recommend renting an Electric Convenience Vehicles (ECV).  These are essentially motorized scooters, that enable guests with mobility concerns to move around the parks with ease.  ECVs are available for rent at various locations throughout the Disney Theme Parks, Water Parks, and the Downtown Disney area. Wheelchairs are also available for rent in Disney Resort locations, however, ECV's are not, so you may consider renting a wheelchair to use around the resort area as well.

If you require more information about the locations where you can find these rentals, or for current pricing, please visit this link.  If you have any questions at all about these rentals or other disability concerns you may call (407) 939-6244 and a cast member will be happy to assist you.

    Have a fabulous holiday trip!
