We will be at DW on 10/12 -10/16/09. Is it best to go ahead and buy tickets or wait till closer to arrival date to get the best price on tickets? I have been researching and there are differences on prices.

Hi, Christine!   I wish I could tell you some magic way to make the price of Disney park tickets go down, but just like everything else, the prices only go UP!

There are several ways to purchase park tickets, some that offer a discount.   Look through your options and see what works best for you:

-The easiest way is to purchase through   Tickets can be mailed to you for a fee or for no charge, you can pick your tickets up at Will Call when you arrive in WDW.

-Your local AAA office sells discounted Disney tickets.   You must purchase before leaving home as the AAA discount is not available at the ticket windows.
-Disney Stores sell park tickets.   If you have one in your area, check it out.

-Visit   This online site sells tickets at a discount.   They post their prices and the gate prices so you can compare costs.   If ordering online, allow enough delivery time.

Before you start purchasing tickets, figure out exactly what kind of tickets you need.   To save money, do not add options if you don't plan to use them.  If you don't plan on park hopping or going to the water parks, stick with the Base Ticket.

Whatever you decide, get it done before you leave for your vacation.   The lines to purchase tickets outside the theme parks get really long, and this can be avoided just by doing a little planning before your vacation.    Good luck!
