I am DVC-joining another DVC family-staying at Coronado springs-1st time-any pointers? Std view 4 adults-I see construction-not sure if still going on in Oct 2018. Hot tub in Moderate? Split bathroom/dressing area while others shower? fridge-correct?

    Hi Denise,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. My family absolutely loves staying at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort – in fact, we stayed there twice last year!

Disney's Coronado Springs Resort is undergoing a magical transformation. Room refurbishments are taking place throughout the resort, and a 15-story tower is being built, which will provide additional accommodations and – my favorite part – a rooftop dining area that will feature fireworks views. I checked with a Cast Member regarding construction during October 2018, and it looks like the entire Dig Site area, including The Lost City of Cibola Pool, hot tub, and Siestas pool bar, will be closed. The resort’s three leisure pools will remain open, and they are lovely.

I think you will really enjoy the resort rooms, where you will find a sliding door separating the main hotel room from the bathroom’s sink and closet area, and then another standard door separating the sink area from the toilet and shower area. I agree with you that this set-up is ideal for a group of four sharing the room; it makes mornings much easier! There is a mini refrigerator in each room, as well as a small coffee maker, which comes equipped with coffee, tea, and assorted supplies.

Denise, while you’re staying at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, I highly recommend the Pepper Market food court, which features delicious nachos and…drumroll please…a margarita machine. My favorite thing to do at the resort is take a walk around the large central lake, Lago Dorado, which is gorgeous at all times of day but especially as the sun is rising.

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
