    We are DVC staying at AK and BW soon. Our friends are staying at WL. Can they come to our pools? Seems like they could just come thru hotel and out to pool- but don't want any trouble :) When we go to theirs do we have to show and ID? How does it work?

    Pool hopping is a great way for Disney Vacation Club Members to experience the unique aspects of various DVC Resort pools and is often a way for Members to decide if they'd like to book their next DVC vacation at THAT resort. :-)  According to Portable Perks, when staying on your Membership at any Disney Vacation Club Resort at the Walt Disney World Resort, "you and any Guests staying with you are permitted to use most of the other Disney Vacation Club and Walt Disney World Resort hotel pools (in addition to the pool at the resort hotel at which you are staying) if they are not at capacity [...] Please check with a host or hostess at the front desk of the resort you wish to visit before you go to to find out about pool-access availability. You must present your current Key to the World Card with your 'DVC Member' designation on it to use the other resort hotel pools." Blackout dates apply, and pool hopping is not currently allowed at several resorts, including Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. As such hanging out at either BW or WL pools, since you are DVC Members, should be no problem, as long as you have your KTTWC with the DVC designation on it.

    I found this information online via my DVC Membership; if you'd like to take a look at DVC Portable Perks, Members can enter dvcmember.com, log in, then hover over "Member Privileges" and select "Member Perks." On that screen, you'll see "Portable Perks" under the Walt Disney World Resort section of the page. These perks are available to DVC Members from July through December, 2012. A new edition of Portable Perks will be posted for later dates as well.
