Can use DVC points to stay at Coronado Springs? What park is closets to this resort? Is any transportation available except bus to parks?

Hello, Michael and welcome to planDisney. I’m so glad you dropped by with your question!

Michael, one of the reasons I love being a Disney Vacation Club Member is the flexibility to stay in a variety of different resorts. While my “home resort,” Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge has a special place in my heart, I love to explore new places and add to my list of favorites!

Michael, let’s talk about your interest in Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort! First, you'll find Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park the closest at a little over three miles away and you’ll access this park as well as the others through Disney Bus Transportation. If you’re looking for a second park option that is in close proximity, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is just over four miles away. With the addition of Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, this park has recently stolen my heart all over again!

Now, in terms of booking this resort, Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is not one of the twelve Disney Vacation Club Resorts at the Walt Disney World Resort. However, that does not preclude you from using your Membership points to stay here. Members have the option of “exchanging their points” with Disney Vacation Club to book a Disney Resort Hotel, Disney Cruise Line or Adventures by Disney. Michael, if you have experience staying on points in a villa at a Disney Vacation Club Resort you will notice that the points charts are a bit higher per night than what you’ll find at most of the Disney Vacation Club Resorts. You can price out your vacation using points at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort HERE.

Michael, if you’re hoping to move forward with booking Disney’s Coronado Springs using points, you can simply call into Member Services and book over the phone. When I stayed at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort awhile back I loved the Spanish inspired touches and gorgeous artwork! And, if you have any little Mouseketeers in your party, don’t skip The Lost City of Cibola Pool!

Michael, I hope this helps as you’re booking your upcoming vacation. If you have any further questions, I hope you’ll come back and see us here at planDisney where helping guests plan Magical vacations makes us feel luckier than Prince Charming finding Cinderella.
