Hi moms! If we use our DVC points for a resort other than our home can we still use amenities at our home resort? More specifically we are staying at WLV but our home is BLT. We would like to see Wishes from Top Of The World. Can we? Thanks for the help!

    Hello, Jennifer!

When you check in to a Disney Vacation Club Resort, you'll receive an updated Welcome Home folder, which will detail the perks afforded to Members at that particular time (these items are subject to change from time to time.)

According to dvcmember.com, you will not be able to view Wishes from the Top of the World Lounge. Here's what's posted on the site:

"Due to anticipated high demand for this location, access is available only to Disney Vacation Club Members who are staying at Bay Lake Tower using their Membership (Vacation Points or cash), guests staying in the room with that Member, and guests who are staying in a room reserved by a DVC Member with Vacation Points. Access is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis."

I have been in line at Bay Lake Tower, waiting to check-in for our elevator ride to Top of the World Lounge, with other Members in front of me who were not staying at BLT or were not staying at WDW on their Membership; these Guests were not allowed access to the Lounge.

That being said, maybe this would be a great time for you to explore your WIshes viewing options at Wilderness Lodge or another nearby resort. Consider booking a dinner at The California Grill at Disney's Contemporary Resort so that you'll finish your meal just prior to the fireworks beginning. You could also book a great dinner at the nearby Ohana or Kona Cafe, at Disney's Polynesian Resort, then head to the beach for a great spot from which to view the fireworks. (Keep in mind that you can travel from WL to MK via boat as well as bus, and can then hop onto the monorail for your dinner reservation...you can even walk from MK to The Contemporary, too!)

Please send additional questions as you think of them; I'd love to help!
