i have 244 DVC points available and 150 points i can borrow from next year. Can I use those for a Disney Cruse? if so how do I go about doing that.

    Ahoy there, Kim!

Welcome Home and welcome to planDisney.  Kim, don't you just love the flexibility of Disney Vacation Club? Getting to use our Vacation Points for adventures at Disney and beyond is just one of the many ways to enjoy Membership Magic.  Our family has used our Disney Vacation Club Points for Disney Cruise Line cruises on a few occasions, and it's a great way to maximize your Membership.

Kim, I am delighted to tell you that you can indeed use your Disney Vacation Club Points for a Disney Cruise Line Cruise.  To do this, first, you want to log into the Disney Vacation Club site.  Next, scroll to the Destinations tab and click on Disney Cruise Line. Click on the blue button that says "View All Points Charts" and here's where you will see all of the 2023 and 2024 sailings.  The Points will vary based on the ship, sailings, and stateroom, and they are listed as the Reservation Points per person needed for that cruise.

Now, this is important, Kim, because you can either use your Reservation Points for all of the Guests or if you don't have enough, you can use a combination of Points and cash for the cost of the Disney Cruise Line Cruise if necessary. Please note, however, in order to use a combination of Points and cash,  Points must be used for full payment for at least one of the Guests. In other words, you couldn't pay half in Points and half in cash for one individual Guest on the cruise. But, you could pay in Points for one person's entire booking and cash for any other Guest traveling with you if needed.

Once you have found the Disney Cruise Line Cruise that is the wish your heart makes, simply call Disney Vacation Club Member Services. They will use their magic to change your Disney Vacation Club Points into Reservation Points that can be used for your cruise, check availability, and make the booking.   Please note there is currently a $95 transaction fee per stateroom (price subject to change) for a confirmed Disney Cruise Line booking.

I hope this helps you, Kim! Enjoy planning your Disney Cruise Line cruise and dreaming about sailing into the great wide somewhere.  If I can assist you any further, stop back and see me here and I'll be so happy to help you!

    Happy sailing,
    Keri
