Hi Johannah,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and welcome HOME to Disney’s
Old Key West Resort this coming spring! Hurray! I’ll be staying there next month, and cannot wait for my visit to get here – I just love the pastel colors and laid-back Key West vibe of this Walt Disney World Resort hotel.
You know what else I love? (Okay, obviously everything Disney, but let’s get more specific). Resort Refillable Mugs! I have a serious collection at home, because I love that the mugs grant me access to soda, coffee, and tea throughout my vacation AND I get a super cute souvenir to take home.
Currently, there are two Rapid Fill Resort Refillable Mug refill stations at Disney’s Old Key West Resort. One is at
Good’s Food To Go and the other is at
Turtle Shack Poolside Snacks. At this time, neither location is open 24 hours, so you will be limited to operating hours (which you can see on each restaurant’s web page) when you want to refill your mug. Johannah, I recommend checking with a Cast Member at the resort when you arrive, because not only are operating hours subject to change, but there may be other refill stations.
I really like to use a straw with my Resort Refillable Mug, so I wanted to let you know that, as part of
The Walt Disney Company’s efforts to reduce plastic waste, plastic straws are no longer widely available at The Walt Disney World Resort. I’ve begun to bring my own reusable straw with me, so I wanted to let you know in case you’d like to add that to your packing list.
ShopDisney sells a really cute pack of Mickey-themed reusable straws, including a Mickey-topped straw brush, and I’ve seen some other designs in the gift shops too.
Johannah, I hope you and your family love being “home” at Disney’s Old Key West Resort this spring. Whether you’re enjoying a delicious meal at
Olivia’s Café, taking a boat ride over to
Disney Springs, or relaxing
poolside and soaking up some beautiful Florida weather, I’m wishing you the most magical time together.
Have a zip-a-dee-doo-dah day,
Robyn
