Hey There, Emily!
Thanks for bringing another question to planDisney. With more than 20 years of Disney Vacation Club Membership under my belt, I can say that it's been one of the best decisions our family has ever made. Each and every year, Membership allows us to create magical Disney experiences and make memories together, with the flexibility to travel how, when, and where works best for us. Whether we're c
elebrating a 50th wedding anniversary in a 3-Bedroom Grand Villa or sneaking away for a quick weekend in a Deluxe Studio, we're "Welcomed Home" with luxury accommodations, exciting Member Benefits, and world-class Disney service during each visit.
As a Disney Vacation Club Member, you're actually purchasing a piece of Disney timeshare real estate, represented by Vacation Points. Initially, you'll have the option to purchase the number of Points that work best for your family, and each year, you'll receive that number of Points as an annual allotment to use at Disney Vacation Club Resorts and other exciting destinations around the world. The
primary cost of Membership will depend on how many Vacation Points you purchase and which DVC location you choose as your Home Resort –– the price per Point varies by location and this one-time fee can be paid as a lump sum or financed with a deposit (restrictions apply). And because this is a real estate transaction, you'll also need to factor closing costs and fees into that initial amount. Beyond that, the only ongoing cost of DVC Membership is your Annual Dues –– this includes property taxes, Resort operating costs, and more –– which can be paid annually or monthly, depending on what works best for you.
Along with luxury Villa and Deluxe Studio accommodations, eligible Disney Vacation Club Members have access to incredible
Membership Extras and Benefits. This includes discounts on dining, shopping, and experiences, Member-exclusive events, dedicated lounge spaces at Walt Disney World Resort, and so much more. My family takes advantage of extras during each and every Disney vacation and they add
so much value to our stay. For a full list of these perks, be sure to check out the Member Benefits section of the Disney Vacation Club website.
To really understand all the ins and outs of a Membership, I recommend reaching out directly to Disney Vacation Club for more information. When you do, you'll be connected with a knowledgeable Guide who can share all the details you need to know and help you decide which Home Resort and how many Vacation Points will work best for your family. You can learn more by calling (800) 500-3990 or by
setting up a virtual meeting or joining a live webinar through the Disney Vacation Club website. Your Guides will help you through every step along the way and make the process of becoming a DVC Member seamless from start to finish.
I'm so glad you made your way back to planDisney, Emily. If you think of new questions about DVC Membership or any part of the Disney planning process, I hope you'll visit us again –– we're always here to help!
Happy Planning,
Amy
