Hiya, Caitlin!
Welcome to planDisney! Oh boy, as a Disney Vacation Club Member for the last 22 years, I love chatting about all things Disney Vacation Club. It has given us the gift of affordable family vacations year after year and allowed us to discover dazzling places we never knew. It was truly one of the best investments our family has ever made.
Caitlin, the answer to your question is a bit complicated because it depends on what you mean by "transfer." If you mean that a family member uses their Vacation Points to book a Disney Vacation Club Resort in your name for a vacation, then in this case, you would
not be entitled to any of the Membership Extras such as discounts, access to Member Lounges, etc, as this is reserved for the Members. Eligible Digital Member Cards and photo IDs are required for Members to receive these benefits.
However, if you mean that the complete
Membership is transferred to your name via a gratuitous transfer, according to Member Services, you would likely get all of the benefits they have, assuming the Membership was directly purchased from Disney and was eligible for
Membership Extras. However, as each contract is different,
Member Administration would be able to tell you for sure. They would only be able to speak to the current Member, so I would recommend having the Member call and inquire about transferring the Membership and what it would include.
I wish I could give you more information, Caitlin. But as we do not have access to Member accounts, Member Services would be best to answer based on your specific account.
If you have any further questions, soar back here to see us, and we will be so happy to help you.
Magically Yours,
Keri
