"Welcome home, Tammy" and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney.
Tammy, as a fellow Disney Vacation Club Member, I'm so happy to chat about the different ways you can use
Vacation Points. One of my favorite aspects of Disney Vacation Club is the flexibility offered in this "club" to customize trips, whether that means accommodations, resorts or even new destinations!
Now, Tammy, the quick answer to your question is YES, you are able to use your Vacation Points to book hotels that are not Disney Vacation Club Resorts such as
Disney's Art of Animation Resort or
Disney's Pop Century Resort. However, let's talk about a few specifics that are important to note.
To book something in the
Disney Destinations collection, you'll be converting your Vacation Points to reservation points. Once your points have been converted, you won't be able to move them back to Vacation Points, so please make sure you've reviewed all of your options prior to moving your points. To book anything in the Disney Destinations collection, you'll need to call into Member Services and speak with a Cast Member.
Finally, Tammy, I encourage you to
browse through the 2021 Points Charts for all of the resorts that pique your interest because you may be surprised at the points per night required for some of the resorts. For example, at the end of October, a 2-Bedroom Villa at
Disney's Old Key West Resort that sleeps up to 9 guests is
35-39 points per night whereas at Disney's Art of Animation Resort, a Cars Family Suite that sleeps us to 6 guests is
43-47 points per night.
Tammy, I hope this information is helpful as you're planning your October vacation. Wherever you choose to stay, I hope you have a Magical trip. If you have additional questions, please come on back to planDisney where we love to serve guests even more than Lumiere loved to serve
cheese soufflé!
