we are dvc members and will be at the world WL 11/1-11/4/13. we requested to add an additional night for 11/4 and was advised we are on the waiting list as no 1 bdrm suites available. what do you think our chances are getting the extra night? love panel !!

    Hi Danny,

Thanks for your kind words!  We on the Disney Parks Moms Panel love to help plan magical vacations.

I think that it is possible that your waitlist request could come though; however, I do not think that you should depend on it.  I have had waitlist requests open up in the past, and I have also been on waitlists where the accommodation I wanted did not open up.  If you are planning on being at Walt Disney World for that extra night, I think that you should have an alternate plan in case your waitlist request does not come through.  Here are a couple of ideas.

Consider changing resorts for that last night.  My family and I used to think that changing resorts sounded exhausting, but have found that it is actually quite fun and not hard at all!  Disney will even help you to move your luggage.  You might consider moving to another resort that you always wanted to try for just one night - maybe a Magic Kingdom View at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort!  We also really love Disney's Old Key West Resort, and often have luck finding availability there.  If you do not want to leave the Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, you might try for a different size villa for your last night, such as a deluxe studio or two-bedroom villa.

You could also add another waitlist request to your reservation.  You can have two waitlist requests at the same time with Disney Vacation Club, so you can add one more.  If you find that one you would really like to try one of the options above but it is not available, add it to your waitlist.  But I do still recommend that you find someplace that you can book for that night.  I would hate for your to not get that last night at Walt Disney World!

I hope that these ideas help with your planning, Danny.  Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions!
