We are DVC members, and have a vacation to WDW planned and staying at Kidani Village. Can we make a tour experience before the 60 day open window? Also, is it still only 7 a.m. the day of the park visit that we can get a lightning pass for a ride?

    Jambo! Welcome to planDisney, Janet!

How wonderful that you'll soon be checking in to the place that my family calls Home-away-home, Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village. The minute step through the doors, you'll feel like you've been magically transported to an African village on the edge of a gorgeous savannah. On my family's first visit to Kidani Village, we entered the lobby and saw two giraffes casually strolling by the floor-to-ceiling windows - it took our breath away! We love spending time speaking with the Animal Specialists, learning about their culture and the animals that call the savannah home. My kids adore splashing around in the Samawati Springs pool and sliding down the 128-foot waterslide, they'd stay there all day if they could!

One way to enhance a Walt Disney World Resort vacation is to add something magical from the Enchanting Extras Collection.  This collection has so many unique experiences and opportunities that I would love to try! I highly recommend the Caring for Giants tour at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park; going backstage to see the elephants from a different vantage point and speaking with Animal specialists about the conservation of elephants is pretty amazing, I learned so much! If you are looking to book an Enchanted Extra for your vacation, your booking window opens for the length of your stay 60 days from your Disney Resort hotel reservation arrival date. Guests can start booking both advance dining reservations and the Enchanted Extras at 6 AM EST.

It sounds like you're already thinking about theme park strategies and are looking to take advantage of Disney Genie+. This will allow you to save time by using the Lightning Lane entrances which have a shorter wait time than standby lines. Guests can purchase Disney Genie+ through the My Disney Experience Mobile app as of 12:01 AM on the day of the park visit. Once the Disney Genie+ is linked to an account, the Guest may start booking their first Lightning Lane at 7 AM EST.

Another option to ensure you get to enjoy an anticipated attraction is to purchase an Individual Lightning Lane. This is a service where you pay per attraction and it allows you to reserve an arrival window. These attractions aren't available to book with Disney Genie+ so it's a great way to make sure you can experience an attraction. Since you are a Disney Resort Hotel Guest, you can book your Individual Lightning Lane selections at 7 AM on the day of the park visit. To note, there is a maximum of two Individual Lightning Lane entries per day.

Janet, I hope this information is useful and helps with your vacation planning. I wish you a wonderful visit, it'll be here before you know it! Please reach out to us at planDisney if you have any other vacation planning questions.

    Welcome Home,
