We the dvc members were supposed to go to to Disney with other family members (non dvc members). my wife passed away I the member can't go but the other non members are still going.. is there a way they can still get the same perks as me without there?

    Hello Gordon,

Thank you so much for stopping by planDisney with your question.  I am so sorry to hear of your wife's passing.  I am happy to help answer your question about the additional family Members visiting Disney who are not current Disney Vacation Club Members.

Certainly, Gordon, if the non-DVC Guests are staying at a Disney Vacation Club Resort - either using your Vacation Points or as cash paying Guests - they will have all of the home-away-from-home benefits of staying at a Disney Vacation Club Resort. Specifically, these would include the Villa amenities such as the full-size kitchen, in-room laundry, and living room area, or if they are staying in a Deluxe Studio, the kitchenette. Disney Vacation Club Resorts also have Community Halls, on-site activities, great pools, and on-site grills, which are great amenities your family can enjoy when staying at a Disney Vacation Club Resort.

Now, in order to enjoy Disney Vacation Club Member Extras and benefits, including Member Lounges and discounts on select shopping, dining, event tickets, and experiences, Guests have to be an eligible Member with an active Digital Membership Card which is required to be presented, along with a photo ID, to take advantage of any Disney Vacation Club benefit.  This means, unfortunately, that the family members won't have access to these benefits simply by staying at a Disney Vacation Club Resort unless they are or are with an eligible Disney Vacation Club Member.

However, there are a few perks they can enjoy as Guests of a Disney Vacation Club Resort.  These include Early Theme Park Entry, available to all Disney Resort Guests, permitting them to enter their ticketed and reserved theme parks 30 minutes before they open to the general public.  Deluxe Resort Guests (which include Disney Vacation Club Resorts) also have access to Extended Theme Park Hours at select theme parks when available.  They can make Advance Dining Reservations 60 days in advance, have early access to Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane and Individual Lightning Lane Reservations beginning at 7:00 a.m. on the day of their theme park visit, enjoy complimentary Resort transportation, and use convenient MagicBands during their vacation.

While your family members won't be able to access all of the Disney Vacation Club Member Extras and benefits as non-DVC Members, they will get all of the perks of staying at a Disney Vacation Club Resort. I hope this information is helpful for you Gordon. If I can provide any additional answers to make Disney vacation planning easier for your family, please feel free to write back to me here and I'll be most happy to help you.

    Magically yours,
    Keri
