Hi. We are DVC members and will be staying at OKW over the Easter break. What activities does WDW generally put on to celebrate this holiday? Will our resort do an egg hunt or activity of some sort?

    Hi Joylene,

My family often visits Walt Disney World around Easter.  It is a great time of year to visit, when the weather is starting to warm up but is not as hot as it can be in the summer.  To my knowledge, Disney has not released information on any special events that might occur this year at Easter in Walt Disney World; however, there typically are special activities around Walt Disney World on Easter.  We can look to the activities from 2013 to get an idea of what might be offered this year.  Last year, many resorts including Disney's Old Key West Resort offered activities on Easter ranging from scavenger hunts to find The White Rabbit to Easter Egg Hunts.  When you check in at Disney's Old Key West Resort, you should receive a list of recreation activities including any special activities for Easter.  In 2013, there was also special Easter dining offered at some locations around Walt Disney World, and some of the theme parks had special activities.  For example, you could meet Mr. and Mrs. Bunny at Magic Kingdom, and Epcot hosted Easter Egg Hunts and Relays.  Please do note that these are all activities that occurred in 2013 and might change for 2014.

A couple of unofficial sites have information on past Easter activities at Walt Disney World.   If you visit either themouseforless.com or wdwinfo.com and type "Easter" into the search box found on their main pages, you will get a detailed listing of the 2013 Easter activities at Walt Disney World.  I also like to monitor the Disney Parks Blog, where you may find details about upcoming events at the Disney Parks.

I hope that this information is helpful for you, Joylene.  Have a wonderful time planning your trip, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
