Hey There, Eva!
I'm so glad you stopped by planDisney! I think my favorite part of being a Disney Vacation Club Member (besides getting to experience the magic of a Disney vacation year after year, of course!) is that there are
so many ways unique and incredible ways to options for each stay. Not only can you choose from world-class accommodations at
Disney Vacation Club Resorts –– you can
travel the world, experience
once-in-a-lifetime adventures, and even
blast off to faraway galaxies, all with your Vacation Points. If you ask me, that's about as magical as it gets! I'm so excited to hear that you're interested in exploring new ways to use your Membership and I'm happy to detail the process of using your Points at a non-DVC Resort.
When you decide to use your Points for Disney Stays outside of a
Disney Vacation Club property, this is known as a
Disney Collection exchange. Not only does this include other
Disney Resorts Collection hotels and campgrounds, but you can also use your Points for stays at Disney Resorts around the world and exciting Disney Experiences like
Disney Cruise Line,
Adventures by Disney, and more. Disney Collection exchange
Points Charts are available on the Disney Vacation Club website, but because you'll actually be
converting your Home Resort Vacation Points to Reservation Points, you'll need to give Member Services a call at (800) 800-9800 to find availability and complete your booking.
Disney Collection exchanges work a little differently than
booking with Disney Vacation Club, so there are a few things I'd like to share with you. Most exchange reservations are subject to the Rule of Four, meaning you must book your reservation before the last four months of your Use Year if you plan to travel
during that Use Year. Each confirmed exchange reservation will also include a non-refundable $95 transaction fee, which will be applied at the time of booking. You should also be aware that once your Vacation Points have been converted to Reservation Points, they can't be transferred back to Vacation Points. This means that if you need to cancel an exchange reservation, those Points cannot be used to book reservations at Disney Vacation Club Resorts (but don't worry –– they can still be used to book another Disney Collection exchange reservation).
Thanks for stopping by planDisney, Eva. No matter how you decide to use your points, I hope your next Disney vacation is filled with Membership magic from start to finish!
See Ya Real Soon,
Amy
