Hello! We are DVC members purchased direct from Disney and are looking to book a last minute trip this summer. If there are no rooms available at resorts via DVC can we leverage concierge collection to use our points at Disney world resorts?

Hi there, Shalisa! Welcome to planDisney and Welcome Home! I'm so happy that you've stopped by with such a great Disney Vacation Club question. Chatting with a fellow Member is my favorite!

Shalisa, don't you just love being a Disney Vacation Club Member?! It's hard to say what my favorite thing about Membership is but knowing that my next magical adventure is always just around the corner is what makes Membership priceless. The variety of Disney destinations and flexibility of the Vacation Points system is what makes Membership magical. I love being able to book last-minute stays at Walt Disney World Resort and head to my happy place on a whim, and I'm thrilled to help you do the same!

If there is no availability at any of the Walt Disney World DVC Resorts, you can absolutely use your Membership to book a stay in one of the Disney Collection Resorts at Walt Disney World Resort. Since you plan on traveling this summer, you are already within the 11-month booking window! Just check out the Reservation Points Chart online and call a helpful Cast Member with DVC Member Services to convert your Vacation Points to Reservation Points, check availability and book your stay. Just be aware that while prices are subject to change, currently, a $95 transaction fee applies at the time of the reservation confirmation, and the Rule of Four applies. This means that the reservation must be made before the last four months of your Use Year for stays during that Use Year.

Did you know that you can create up to two Waitlists for DVC Resorts?! If you decide against booking one of the Disney Collections Resorts, I recommend creating two Waitlists for two of the larger Resorts, such as Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, Disney's Old Key West Resort, or Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village. That way, you will increase the chances of your Waitlisted Resort reservation becoming available and the reservation being confirmed. I also suggest checking the DVC Resort availability often, and I mean morning, noon and night! If you search for availability on the DVC website often, you will see that there is constant movement of reservations, and you may just snag the Resort reservation of your dreams to enjoy a magical summer vacation at The Most Magical Place on Earth.

Shalisa, I hope this was helpful, and I hope you have an unforgettable pixie-dusted summer vacation! Please stop by any time with any vacation planning or DVC questions you may have. I'd love to help! You've got a friend in me.

I hope to see ya real soon,

    Mandy
