We are DVC members and have 323 points, but we want to stay in a villa at the Rivera. Can we purchase more points?

    Welcome to planDisney, Karen!

I'm so glad you've found your way here! Thanks for dropping by with a question about your Disney Vacation Club Membership.  Without a doubt, my favorite thing about being a DVC Member is using Vacation Points to plan a vacation that fits our needs for every occasion. Whether you're using Points to drop in for a last-minute adventure in a Deluxe Studio, plan a big family gathering in a 3-Bedroom Grand Villa, or even explore the world with experiences like Adventures by Disney, you'll have luxury accommodations waiting to welcome you home at Disney Destinations across the globe.

I'm excited to hear that you're planning a visit to Disney's Riviera Resort next fall –– my family and I are heading home to Riviera for the first time in just a few weeks and we can't wait!  If you need more Vacation Points to book the perfect stay, you have a few options.  First, you'll have the option to borrow up to 100 percent of your Points from your upcoming Use Year.  Personally, I think this is the simplest way to acquire extra Points and it's the option I typically choose.  To do this, you can use the online booking portal on the DVC website and book your reservation just as you usually would.  If you don't have enough Vacation Points to complete the transaction, you'll be given the option to borrow points during the confirmation process, and you'll even be able to specify where you borrow the Points from if you have more than one contract.  Just keep in mind that once Vacation Points have been borrowed, they can't be returned to their original Use Year –– if you need to modify or cancel your reservation, any surplus Points that you've borrowed will expire at the end of the Use Year you originally booked.

If you need just a few more Vacation Points to book the perfect Riviera Villa, you also have the option to purchase One-Time-Use Points.  Each Use Year, Disney Vacation Club Members have the option to purchase up to 24 additional Vacation Points, which are only valid for that Use Year, and can be used to book reservations in the 7-month booking window.  To do this, you'll need to give Member Services a call at (800) 800-9800.  And finally, if you think you need more Vacation Points each year (don't we all?) and would like to purchase a larger ownership interest, you can also add additional Vacation Points in 25-Point increments for cash purchases and 50-Point increments for financed purchases.  To do this, I recommend getting in touch with your Vacation Club Guide or getting in touch with Member Services.

I hope this helped to answer your question, Karen, and I really appreciate you visiting planDisney.  If you have more questions about your Disney Vacation Club Membership, please don't hesitate to stop by again –– we're always here to lend a helping hand!

    Happy Planning,
    Amy
