We are DVC members. Point year Dec.Want to take cruise but don't have enough points for 2 A & 1 child without borrowing from 2013. Is it better to borrow the points or pay cash for the child? First cruise. Want to go either at Xmas or early in 2013

    Hi Deborah,

You will love going on a Disney Cruise Line ship!  There is nothing quite like being on the seas on the luxurious Disney ships.  The service that you will receive is utterly amazing.  You will never want to leave.  My family has been on several cruises using points and cash.  I will usually decide to borrow points based on what I want to do the following year as well.  For instance, if you want to spend time in a villa in 2013, then I would recommend not borrowing from 2013 and paying cash for your child.  However, if you are not planning to return to Walt Disney World next year, I would borrow the points and book the cruise using points.  You also have the option to book with one adult and one child on points and banking your remaining points from this year if you want to visit next year as well.  There are so many options to choose from which is why I love being a Disney Vacation Club member.  I know your first cruise will be magical! Please send me another question, Deborah, if I can help you any further.  Welcome Home!
