We are DVC members. We are planning a trip to AKV Kidani for November 2014. This in not our home resort, so that puts us in the 7 month window. I was wondering how easy is it to book multiple reservations for the same trip?

Howdy James! We have done split stays many times and the Cast Members make it a very easy process!

To ensure you have a place to stay, be sure to book a reservation at your Home Resort at the 11 month window. Then at the 7 month window, you can modify/add Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village to your reservation (based on availability of course). While you can do the majority of this online, I would suggest that you contact Member Services via phone and ask them to help as you don't want to risk losing one reservation when trying to book the other.

Fast forward to your vacation: Moving from one Resort to the next is very easy. When you are ready to check-out, contact the Bell Stand and let them know you need your luggage transferred to the next Resort. They will collect your items and give you a receipt. Everything will be transferred to the new Resort and delivered that afternoon. Be sure you have what you need with you as you will not have access to your luggage until it is delivered to your Villa. We typically pack a collapsible cooler bag and freezer packs if we know we will need to move cold items. While Disney does offer cold storage at the Resorts, you will need to a way to keep cold items cold during transfer.

Do not close your account when you change Resorts. Simply depart and go enjoy yourself in the Theme Parks, Downtown Disney, etc. If you close your account, you will not be able to do a room charge or use your Dining Plan (if applicable). If you will be using a Dining Plan(s), you will have different Dining Plans for each reservation. If you are going to need the Dining Plan entitlements from the second Resort the day of your transfer, you will need to check-in at the new Resort so they can activate your reservation.

As I read through this, it sounds rather complicated but it really isn't. Let me know if you need any further information as you plan your November 2014 vacation. Have a magical day!
