We are DVC Members, and planning to stay at OKW this November. Will we be able to visit other resorts for shopping or dining? Will will be able to use Disney transportation...Busses, boats, Skyliner ? We also have a car. Can we park at other resorts?

“Welcome home,” Paula and thanks for swinging by planDisney with your question.

Paula, as much as Olaf loves talking to Anna, that’s how much I love chatting with fellow Disney Vacation Club Members about the best “club” around. And... it just so happens that my family and I stayed at Disney’s Old Key West Resort this past August, so I’m hoping my experience will help make your trip extra Magical.

Paula, I’m happy to report that you ARE able to visit other great Disney Resort Hotels for shopping and dining. When my family and I stayed at Disney’s Old Key West Resort, we visited both Disney’s Riviera Resort for breakfast at Topolino’s Terrace- Flavors of the Riviera and Disney’s Contemporary Resort for dinner at California Grill. You are welcome to use Disney Bus Transportation to get to your destination, but you are also welcome to drive your own car (with complimentary self parking with a fee for valet services). If you are driving, make sure to let the Cast Member at the parking podium know that your are an on-site guest with a dining reservation or plans to shop. When we arrived at Disney’s Riviera Resort, the Cast Member asked for our last name to check our reservation.

Paula, you are also able to take to the skies in your very own gondola aboard the Disney Skyliner. If you are planning a visit to EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios, a roundtrip ride on the Disney Skyliner is a great way to take a break and relax while enjoying the views. Instead of just a mode of transportation, my kids count this as an attraction!

Finally, Paula, from Disney’s Old Key West Resort, it’s easy to hop aboard a bus to Disney Springs. While the ferry boat from Disney’s Old Key West Resort is on pause as the Walt Disney World Resort is in its phased reopening, we found the buses plentiful and safe. Each and every trip “home” my husband can’t miss an opportunity to stop by Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar, so Disney Springs is always in our plans.

Paula, I hope this helps as you are making plans for your November trip. Please come on back to planDisney with any other questions you might have. Wishing you a vacation full of unforgettable moments,
