Hello we are DVC members and we need to bank our remaining 160pts by April 1, 2013 my question is If we bank our points because we our undecided right now as to where we would like to go are we able to pull those points out at anytime and use them.

    Hi Laura,

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your Disney Vacation Club question.  I am glad that you are keeping track of your Disney Vacation Club points and that you are aware of the timeline for banking your Vacation Points.

Banking Vacation Points is a one-way transaction.  Once you bank your Vacation Points, they cannot be pulled back into the current use year.  If you have 2013 use year Vacation Points that you are banking into 2014, once they are banked into the 2014 use year, you cannot pull them back to the 2013 use year.  Also, once those Vacation Points are banked into your 2014 use year, they will expire at the end of that use year.  You cannot bank the same set of Vacation Points more than once, and you cannot borrow or transfer Vacation Points that have been banked.

Even if you bank those 2013 Vacation Points into your 2014 use year, if you do decide that you'd like to go somewhere in your 2013 use year, you could borrow Vacation Points from your 2014 use year into 2013.  That would be your actual allotment of 2014 Vacation Points - not the ones that you banked in from your 2013 use year.

There is more information on banking Vacation Points in the Vacation Planner that members receive in the mail.  In the 2012 edition of the Vacation Planner, this information is on page 5.  If you need more information, I recommend calling Disney Vacation Club Member Services at 1-800-800-9800.  They will be able to help answer any further questions you have and also can help you with actually banking your Vacation Points.

I hope that this information is helpful for you, Laura.  Please do not hesitate to come back and ask if you have any further questions!
