Hiya, Penelope! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney. It's the best day ever whenever I get to chat about all things
Disney Vacation Club with a fellow Member, and I'm more than happy to help with your vacation planning question today.
I'm sure you're getting excited to savor the savanna on your fall trip to
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. This resort is one of our family's favorites and is so unique. There's not much better than relaxing on your balcony watching the animals wander by before enjoying an amazing dinner at
Boma - Flavors of Africa (two words, Penelope: ZEBRA DOMES) or
Jiko - The Cooking Place.
If you have a car with you,
standard self-parking is complimentary at
Disney Resort Hotels for Guests to enjoy shopping, dining, entertainment, or recreation options there. Typically, Security will check your ID and inquire about the reason for your visit. Sometimes I've been asked to show proof of a dining reservation, and other times simply stating my plans has been adequate. Ultimately Security has the final say and your experience may vary depending on who is staffing the gate that day, or if the parking lots are at capacity so that Guests staying at
Disney's BoardWalk Villas can be accommodated.
Penelope, if you decide not to drive on this trip, you can easily get to the BoardWalk by taking complimentary
bus transportation to
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park and then transferring to a bus bound for the BoardWalk. I'm also a regular rideshare user when we visit Walt Disney World--I usually find that there are plenty of available drivers and fares are quite low for trips between two destinations within the resort.
However you decide to travel, I'm sure you are going to have a practically perfect vacation. Thank you again for bringing your question our way, and please don't hesitate to visit us again at planDisney if we can help with any other tips and tricks!
Stay Magical!
Susan
