Hi there, Sharon! Welcome to planDisney and Welcome Home! I'm so glad that you've stopped by with your vacation planning question. I love chatting Disney with a fellow
Disney Vacation Club Member!
My favorite thing about my family's DVC Membership is being able to return to our happy place, The Most Magical Place on Earth, time and time again. Since I unknowingly and accidentally let my daughter's Annual Pass expire (Whoops!), I absolutely understand the frustration of the sales of new Annual Passes being paused, and I'm more than happy to answer your question today.
Unfortunately, at this time, no announcements have been made on when the sales of new
Walt Disney World Annual Passes for out-of-state Guests, including DVC Members, will resume. But as someone in a similar situation, I can offer a little advice on how to try to make the best of this unfortunate, frustrating, and hopefully temporary situation.
First, I suggest purchasing theme park tickets for your upcoming vacation next month and making your
Theme Park Pass reservations as soon as possible. Then, keep an eye on the
Annual Passholder page on the Walt Disney World website up to the last day of your vacation. If sales happen to resume before you use your last ticket, you should be able to upgrade your ticket to an Annual Pass by paying the difference in value. You would just have to stop by a Guests Relations location at the theme parks or Disney Springs; and be sure to bring your
digital DVC Membership Card to be eligible for the discounted Disney Sorcerer Pass, exclusively for DVC Members and Florida residents. I'll be wishing upon a star that sales resume soon and before your upcoming vacation!
Since Annual Pass sales did not resume before my family's vacation last month, we saved some money on tickets by purchasing our daughter a five-day one-park-per-day ticket for our eight-day stay. Then, we took advantage of the
current DVC discounts on Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water park tickets and tickets to
Drawn to Life Presented by Cirque du Soleil. These new-to-us Disney experiences were our favorite things about our last vacation, and I highly recommend them! Instead of park hopping, we spent a ton of time dining, swimming and enjoying recreation offerings at our DVC Resort, and it was fabulous! I hope that you have the same fabulous time, my friend!
Sharon, while I know that this probably was not the answer you were hoping for, I hope it was at least helpful. I hope that you have the most magical and memorable time on your upcoming adventure, and I hope that Annual Pass sales resume SOON! Please stop by any time with any vacation planning or DVC questions you may have along the way. You've got a friend in me!
See ya real soon,
Mandy
