Shaun from NY Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Hi. We are DVC members and have booked a studio at Copper Creek but have the opportunity to book a Grand Floridian studio. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

"Welcome home," Shaun and thanks for coming back to see us hEAR at planDisney! It's great to have you back chatting about another trip.

Shaun the choice between a stay at Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge and The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa might just be harder than picking your favorite Disney Princess! However... since you're faced with this choice, let's dive into some specifics.

Shaun, if space in your villa is a priority for you, I would recommend The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa as the Deluxe Studio rooms there are approximately 375 square feet compared to the (approximately) 340 square feet you'll find at Copper Creek Villas & Cabins. I find this is particularly important if you have more than 2 people in your room. For example, sometimes my husband and I will sneak away to the Walt Disney World Resort for a long weekend without the kids. On those trips a smaller space wouldn't impact our stay. When our kids are along, however, every square foot counts!

Another factor I recommend considering would be how much time you're planning to spend at Magic Kingdom Park. While both of these resorts are easily accessible, a brand new walkway has recently opened up connecting The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to Magic Kingdom Park. So, if being able to walk back and forth is important to you, this resort would be your best bet.

Finally, let's talk about the theming and feel of these two properties. While there is no right answer, each of these Disney Vacation Club Resorts brings its own flair. Personally, I will share that Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge is my "home" resort and if my husband had his choice, he'd never stay anywhere else. We love the warm wood and luxurious Pacific-Northwest feel of this special place. Other guests who love Victorian elegance and lush shopping options would always pick The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Again, this is where I encourage you to consider which aesthetic you'd like to surround you at the end of the day.

Shaun, even with so many things to consider, I promise you that there is no wrong choice. Whichever property you choose for your next stay, I hope it's Magical from check-in to check-out and I hope you'll be able to catch the returning Electrical Water Pageant. Exclusive to those resorts around Magic Kingdom Park, this beloved nighttime show can be seen outside at both resorts beginning at 8:45 PM.

Best wishes, Shaun, as you make your decision. I hope you'll come back and see us here at planDisney with any other questions you might have.
    We're all EARS,
