Hey there, Travers! Welcome to planDisney and Welcome Home! I'm so glad that you've stopped by with such a great planning question. I love chatting Disney with a fellow
Disney Vacation Club Member!
My favorite thing about being a DVC Member is being able to return to my family's happy place, Walt Disney World Resort, time and time again. Since we visit several times a year, the magic called us to become Annual Passholders in 2015, and I'm excited to hear that the magic is calling you, too! But as someone who accidentally let her daughter's Annual Pass expire this year (Oops!), I definitely understand the frustration of having multiple trips planned and not being able to purchase an Annual Pass, and I'm more than happy to answer your question today.
Unfortunately, at this time, no announcements have been made about when the sales of new Walt Disney World Annual Passes for out-of-state Guests, including DVC Members, will return. So, I suggest keeping an eye on the
Passholder page on the Walt Disney World website and the
Disney Parks Blog for the news on when sales will resume as soon as it drops. I'll be wishing upon every evening star that sales resume very soon!
If the sales of new Annual Passes don't resume in the next couple of months, I recommend
purchasing theme park tickets so that you can make your
Theme Park Pass Reservations as soon as possible to reserve your spot in your desired parks. Then, if Annual Pass sales resume before you use your last ticket, you should be able to upgrade your ticket to an Annual Pass by stopping by Guest Relations outside of the theme parks or in Disney Springs and paying the difference in value. If you plan on purchasing the discounted Disney Sorcerer Pass exclusively for DVC Members and Florida residents, be sure to have your new
digital DVC Membership Card and a photo ID with you. If Annual Passes become available again soon, you can purchase a Disney Sorcerer Pass by
calling DVC Member Services and speaking with a helpful Cast Member.
If for some reason, Annual Passes don't become available before your trips next year, I recommend taking advantage of your DVC perks and discounts! Since my daughter no longer has an Annual Pass, we saved some money this summer by only purchasing a five-day ticket for her for our eight-day stay. Then, instead of going to a theme park every day, we took advantage of the DVC discount on tickets to
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park and
Drawn to Life Presented by Cirque du Soleil & Disney, and these new-to-us experiences were the favorites of our entire magical vacation! Since perks and discounts are always evolving, keep an eye on the
Member Benefits page on the DVC website as your next trip approaches!
I hope this was helpful, Travers, and I sure hope you can purchase your Annual Pass very soon! Please stop by any time with any vacation planning or DVC questions you may have along the way. You've got a friend in me!
See ya real soon,
Mandy
