I am a DVC member & have sufficient points for a 3 night stay for either the Disney Villas or the new Disneyland Hotel room April. Can I use my membership to book a room for a friend who will be in the area but I will not be will not be with her?

Welcome Home, Ginger! Thanks so much for visiting planDisney--it's always a treat to meet another Disney Vacation Club Member. You've got a friend in me, and I'm here to help however I can!

You are so kind, helping your friend have a well-deserved getaway at one of the two gorgeous DVC resorts in California. I think you can't go wrong with either West Coast option--The Villas at Disneyland Hotel or The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa!

I'm happy to report that you can absolutely make some Disney magic for your pal! I recently traveled to Walt Disney World Resort to cheer on my daughter's dance team at their national championships and made a booking for one of my dear friends and fellow dance mamas to stay in a DVC studio at a different resort--it couldn't have been easier! You can make the reservation either online or by calling Member Services. Simply include your friend's information as the Lead Guest on the reservation, and they are good to go!

You will receive an email confirmation for the reservation, which you'll need to forward to your friend. If any changes need to be made, such as adding or removing a Guest, you will contact Member Services to handle those. It's important to know that your friend won't be eligible for any Member Benefits during their trip if you're not with her, including accessing Star View Station - A Member Lounge, as folks visiting need to show their DVC Membership card and a photo ID.

I feel quite certain that your friend is going to have a wonderful time at The Happiest Place on Earth, Ginger! Thank you for sharing the DVC magic, and please stop by planDisney again anytime if we can help with other questions or tips.

    Stay Magical!
