I am a DVC Member, and my son has decided to attend a college in Florida. Could he use his College ID in order to use a Florida Annual Resident pass to Disney for himself?

    Hi Katherine,

What a fantastic opportunity for your son! I would have loved to attend college in Florida, with the great year-round weather and close proximity to the Walt Disney World Resort. I'll bet your son is super excited!

While your son is residing in Florida to attend college, he should qualify to purchase a Walt Disney World Annual Pass for Florida residents. One of the exclusive benefits of a Florida resident Annual Pass is the ability to pay for the Pass on a monthly payment program, spreading the cost of the Annual Pass into 12 monthly payments. Especially for a budget-conscious college student, this is a great option!

In order to qualify for a Florida resident Annual Pass, your son must present proof of a Florida residential address. Acceptable forms of proof include either (1) a valid Florida driver's license or state-issued Florida Identification card with a Florida address, or, (2) a current bill, financial or government documentation addressed to your son at a valid Florida residential address within the preceding two months, along with government photo identification.

Therefore, even if your son does not have a Florida driver's license or state identification card with a Florida address, provided he has bank statements, utility or telephone bills, or some form of official government correspondence addressed to his attention at his Florida residential address, along with a piece of photo identification, he should be fine to purchase his Florida resident Annual Pass.

Katherine, I hope this information is helpful to you and your son as you both prepare for his exciting transition to college life. My best wishes to your son in all of his future endeavors!
