Heather from PA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I am a DVC Member looking to book a cash reservation for Oct. of 2022. I don’t have enough points with the current borrowing restrictions. If I make a reservation now and an annual pass discount comes out will Disney adjust the price if I call and ask?

    Hiya, Heather!

Welcome to planDisney and Welcome Home!  Halloween is one of my favorite holidays at Walt Disney World Resort –– with special after-hours events, drool-worthy snacks, and all your favorite characters dressed up for the occasion, it takes the festive feeling of the season to a whole new level.  I'm excited to hear that you'll be experiencing everything Spooky Season has to offer this year!

A few weeks ago, I ran into the same problem when I tried to borrow Vacation Points for an upcoming stay –– it's kind of a bummer knowing that you should be able to use next year's Points, but can't access them.  However, with the recent easing of restrictions and the return of many offerings across Walt Disney World Resort, I'm hopeful that a rollback of the temporary borrowing limit is on its way.  For all the latest details about this policy and other DVC news, be sure to keep your eye on the Disney Vacation Club website.

Even without access to Points from your upcoming Use Year, it sounds like you're still planning an exciting visit to Walt Disney World coming up this fall! And here's the best part –– if you book a cash reservation and a special offer or eligible promotion becomes available later, the discount can be applied to your existing reservation.  While you can do this by calling to speak with a Cast Member at (407) 939-5277, I recommend modifying your reservation to include the discount online, if possible, to save yourself some time.  You can do this by logging in to the My Disney Experience section of the Walt Disney World Website.  Under "My Plans, Reservations, and Tickets", find your upcoming reservation and click "Change Reservation".  On the "Vacation Offers" section of the next page, you should be able to select "Change" and follow the on-screen prompts to update your rate with an available special offer.

If you haven't already done so, I also suggest checking to see if there is any cash availability for Members at DVC Resorts during the dates of your visit.  These Member-exclusive rates are a great way to save on a cash reservation and can be booked at all Resorts up to 11 months before check-in, with the exception of the Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa (which can only be booked 60 days in advance).  You can find DVC cash availability and book reservations by giving Member Services a call at (800) 800-9800.

Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney, Heather.  No matter how you book your reservation, I hope your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort visit is filled with Happy Haunts and plenty of spooky savings!

    See Ya Real Soon,
    Amy
