Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney, Vanessa!
Woo-hoo! Can you believe you've made it to the final stretch? Your Walt Disney World Resort visit is
right around the corner! There are LOTS of incredible things to experience during your visit –– from all the excitement of
The World's Most Magical Celebration to the gorgeous blooms of the
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival –– but you can't do any of that without theme park tickets, right? Let me share a few details about purchasing Florida Resident admission as a
Disney Vacation Club Member so you can finalize all those last-minute planning details before you arrive.
Florida Resident tickets can cause confusion for DVC Members (after all, there are taxes involved, right?). Unfortunately, though, time-share ownership isn't enough to qualify for Florida Residency. In order to take advantage of those special offers,
you must provide proof of a Florida residential address –– a valid Florida ID or items like a mortgage statement or utility bill are required. If you can provide any of those things, you're welcome to purchase admission as a Florida Resident. Just remember that you'll need to verify your residency –– either online or at any Walt Disney World theme park ticketing window –– before your tickets can be used.
After purchasing your tickets, be sure to make your theme park reservations using the
Disney Park Pass system. I think the easiest way to do this is right from the
My Disney Experience mobile app. After signing in, all you need to do is tap "+" at the bottom of the screen and select "Make a Park Reservation" from the menu. From there, follow the onscreen prompts to finalize your reservation. If you're staying at a
DVC Resort or
Disney Resorts Collection hotel, be sure that you're making reservations in the section reserved for Guests of Select Resort Hotels –– this is a special pool of reservations set aside for Resort Guests and often has more availability than general theme park tickets. Since you're visiting during a busy time, I also suggest making your Disney Park Pass reservations as soon as possible. Dates have been filling up quickly in recent weeks and I'd hate for you to miss out on visiting any of the parks during your visit.
Thanks for visiting planDisney, Vanessa. Even without a Florida Resident discount, I hope your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort visit is filled with pixie dust and
Membership magic from beginning to end!
See Ya Real Soon,
Amy
