Hey Howdy Hey, Marla!
Welcome to planDisney! Yeehaw! How exciting that you are thinking of moseying over to Walt Disney World for a stay in the magic. Our family loves kicking up our boots at Disney, especially at the thematic
Disney Vacation Club Resorts. Disney's Wilderness Lodge is my personal favorite. The home-like amenities of these Resorts, including the full-size kitchens in the Villas and the kitchenettes in the Deluxe Studios, are perfect places for making family meals and enjoying some grub after a fun Disney day.
Marla, while eligible Disney Vacation Club Members enjoy many benefits and discounts, we do not typically receive discounts on Disney Resort Hotel Stays. However, sometimes we can get a discounted DVC rate on select room categories at select Disney Vacation Club Resorts. If a DVC rate is offered, it is typically closer to the check-in date at the Resort for room inventory that has not yet been booked. Our family has secured a Disney Vacation Club rate on occasion, but it can vary.
What you can do is call
Disney Vacation Club Member Services and ask if there are any DVC rates for cash-paying rooms for the dates you would like to book. They can run a search or look up a specific property, and if there are any available, they will make the booking for you at the rate.
If you'd like to see the other discounts and benefits currently offered to eligible Disney Vacation Club Members, you can
find that list here. Keep in mind that "eligible Members" are Members who are eligible for Member benefits. I always recommend asking at dining and merchandise locations, and be sure to have your Digital Member Card and photo ID to receive the discount.
I hope this helps you, Marla! If you have any further questions, giddy-up back here and I'll be sure to lasso you an answer. After all, you've got a friend in me.
Happy Trails,
Keri
