as a DVC member, can I book in Pop Century Resort with my points?

    Hiya, Nancy!

As a fellow Disney Vacation Club Member, let me say "Welcome Home" to planDisney.  One of my favorite part of Disney Vacation Club Membership is that we have so much flexibility to choose how we use our Vacation Points –– whether it's visiting a Disney Vacation Club Resort, setting sail with Disney Cruise Line, or even blasting off to a galaxy far, far away, the sky's the limit for the incredible vacation opportunities we can create.  I'm so excited to hear that you're thinking of using your Points for a stay at Disney's Pop Century Resort later this year, and I'm happy to share a few details about the process to help you along the way.

When you choose to use your Vacation Points for Disney stays and experiences at a non-Disney Vacation Club Resort, this is known as a Disney Collection Exchange.  And just like a DVC stay, the Points Charts for these exchanges are available on the Disney Vacation Club website.  However, unlike DVC Resorts, you won't be able to reservations for these stays online –– when you're ready to book, you'll need to give Member Services a call at (800) 800-9800 and a Cast Member will be happy to assist you.

Since booking a Disney Collection Exchange works a little differently than booking a DVC reservation, there are a few things you'll want to keep in mind.  Each confirmed exchange reservation is subject to a non-refundable $95 transaction fee, due at the time the reservation is confirmed.  Also, Disney Collection Exchange reservations fall under the Rule of Four, which means you can't book these stays during the last four months of your Use Year if you'll be traveling during that same year.  And finally, because these exchanges require you to convert your Vacation Points to Reservation Points, those Points can no longer be used to book Disney Vacation Club reservations.  This means that in the event your reservation needs to be canceled or modified, those Points can't be used to book another reservation at a DVC Resort.  Don't worry, though –– your Points won't be lost.  In the event you need to cancel your reservation, those Points will be available to use for another Disney Collection Exchange reservation before they expire at the end of your Use Year.

Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney, Nancy.  I hope this helped to answer your question, but if you think of anything new, please feel free to stop by again –– we're always here to help!

    Happy Planning,
    Amy
