Will a DVC deed with a December use date lose the points for the last year? For example: a deed ends Jan 31, 2057. A March deed has months to use the 2056 pts. A Dec deed gets pts Dec 31. The Dec deed has 30 days to use? No rooms will be open so lose them?

    Hey Howdy Hey, Becky!

Welcome Home! Thank you so much for stopping by with your question about Disney Vacation Club Membership.

Becky, my family has been Disney Vacation Club Members for over 22 years, and it has afforded us dream vacations year after year at our home away from home at Walt Disney World Resort and beyond. My parents are also Members and have maximized the magic of their Disney Vacation Points to enjoy Disney Cruise Line Cruises and Adventures By Disney experiences. The flexibility of our Membership has been a wonderful way to make so many family memories together each year and explore a whole new world of adventures.

I called Disney Vacation Club Member Services about your question and the Member Services Cast Member also spoke with a Team Leader.  Here's what I learned.  As Disney Vacation Club hasn't yet had any deeds reach their expiration date, it is a bit unclear as to what would officially happen for those final year of Vacation Points - if you would receive your final Vacation Points in December 2055 to use by the end of that Use Year or if you would be able to Borrow Vacation Points for 2056 to use prior to your deed's expiration, or if alternate options will be available to Members.  They were unable to give us an official answer at this time and like all things at Walt Disney World, magic happens all of the time so there could be a change as Disney Vacation Club approaches deed expiration dates.

If you have a specific question related to your Membership dates, contract, and Use Year, I would recommend contacting Disney Vacation Club Member Services so they can give you more direction related to your Membership. I'm sorry I don't have a more definitive answer at this time.

If you have any further Disney Vacation Club questions, soar back here to see me, and I'll be so happy to help you.

    Have fun making magical memories!
