DVC club ? Already mentally planning the next WDW trip and haven't done 1st one! Cousin is DVC member and has offered to let us "use his points." Is that acceptable and "legal?" How would something like that work? THanks so much!!!

    Hi Christine!

You sound just like me - planning the next trip before the current one has even started!!!  Let me start by saying that I'm not a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) owner and I am by no means an expert.  However, it is perfectly legal and acceptable to use or rent points from a DVC owner.

I'm assuming that by "use his points," he means to rent them to you for a certain dollar amount per point.  He will need to make the reservation for you and the timing and location of your trip may be quite limited.  Also, it can be extremely difficult to make any changes to the reservation once it is made.  That being said, I have a friend that LOVES to rent points and has convinced me to look into it.  Lucky you that your cousin is a DVC member!  Be sure to let me know how your trip (both of them!!!) goes!
