my DVC card expires this year and i was told i wouldn’t get a new one unless i have 150 points or something?? is this true because that makes no sense. also do you need that many points to purchase the sorcerer annual pass?

"Welcome home," Sunnie and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney. I'm always thrilled to chat with a fellow Disney Vacation Club Member!

Sunnie, I'm happy to share that the number of points you have doesn't affect your current Disney Vacation Club Membership Card. You will receive a new card in the mail prior to the expiration date. I believe the number of 150 that you heard about is in reference to the new minimum for direct purchase and perks. This minimum pertains only to new Disney Vacation Club Members and current Members who own less than 150 points are grandfathered into previous terms.

Now, Sunnie, all direct Members with a blue card are welcome to purchase the Disney Sorcerer Pass. Before purchasing make sure to take a quick look at the blockout dates. The Disney Sorcerer Pass is a great option if your travel dates are flexible, but if your family typically visits over the Christmas holiday, you may want to consider the IncrediPass.

Sunnie, I hope this information clarifies the renewal of your Membership Card and the eligibility to purchase the Disney Sorcerer Pass. If you have any other questions, please come on back to planDisney. Like the Minnie Mouse headbands, we are all EARS.
