during our stay at wdw, my husband and I would like to experience an activity or a meal without our 2 children. Does Disney offer a child care area where mom and dad can drop off and escape on our own for a few hours?

    Hi Shannon!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel.

Walt Disney World has Children Activity Centers for children who are potty trained and between 4 and 12 years of age.  The centers are located at some of the Disney Deluxe Resorts but are open to all guests.  Children get to play games and do activities while you enjoy some Disney grown-up fun! Depending on the exact hours you book, dinner is included.  Usual operation hours (subject to change) for all Children’s Activity Centers are from 4:30 p.m. to midnight and can be booked in advance by calling 407-WDW-DINE (407-939-3463).

Another option, including in-room babysitting, is Kid’s Nite Out. Kid’s Nite Out Caregivers can provide one-on-one care or can just hang out with your family if you need a father’s/mother’s helper. The sitters are over the age of 18 years and are certified in child/infant CPR and basic first aid. Reservations can be made up to two months in advance and require at least a 24-hour notice.  Reservations can be made by calling 800-696-8105 or 407-828-0920.

By the way, be sure to make Advanced Dining Reservations for any Table Service restaurants you want to dine in.  ADRs can be made up to 180 days in advance online or by calling (407) WDW-DINE.

I hope this helps!  Write back if you have any more questions!
