During or stay we have reservations at Chief Mickey's. Our kids love this place. With it being closed is it still worth going? I don't see how it will be the same with it being moved to the convention center?

    Hi, Jeff!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Chef Mickey’s is a fan favorite! You are correct that this Disney Restaurant will be temporarily relocating to the Convention Center at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. I have heard Guests say that it doesn’t make a difference to them WHERE it is because it is all about the food (MICKEY WAFFLES!) and the Disney Character interactions. Alternatively, I have also heard Guests say that the experience won’t be the same without being able to see and hear the Disney Resort Monorail while you dine. My personal thoughts are that you can’t see the Resort Monorail from every seat at Chef Mickey’s anyway, and you will still be able to see it from the Resort Lobby when you enter the building. It is a very personal decision, but keep in mind that Walt Disney World Resort always wants to provide the best experience for their Guests and I am sure that it will still be a magical experience in the Convention Center. If you prefer to change your Disney Restaurant Reservation, that is also understandable but remember to familiarize yourself with the cancellation policy. If you are looking to switch it up, might I suggest the ‘Ohana Best Friends Breakfast featuring Lilo & Stitch? It is just one Disney Resort Monorail Resort away and also has fantastic Character interactions. There is also the Supercalifragilistic Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa to consider. I don’t think you can go wrong with either choice!

Have a magical time and bon appetit!
