During a stay at my chosen resort, am I allowed to walk and jog on in-resort walking trails at any time of the day or night, or do certain paths get closed off to guests at certain hours? Thanks!

Magical greetings, Jeremiah, and welcome back to planDisney! Thanks for asking your question about the many available Running Trails throughout the Walt Disney World Resort.

I'm not sure where you're staying, so I've linked some information above for you about where you can find running and jogging paths all throughout the resort. You can find a path at almost every Disney Resort hotel or one nearby. Your question about hours of availability is a good one. If you stick to the marked running paths, they should be available to you at any time.

Areas around the pools may be locked off outside of posted operating hours, and certain areas may be unavailable if maintenance is being done. Larger refurbishment projects will be mentioned on each impacted resort's page on the Walt Disney World website. Or, you can search for refurbishment, and a list of resorts currently undergoing some form of construction will be provided. Then, you can click on each one to find out what areas of the resort are being worked on to see if it will impact your workout. Smaller maintenance projects like concrete patches or landscaping refreshes may not be listed, and you likely won't know about these unless you happen upon them. In any case, please keep safety in mind and be aware of your surroundings. As always, follow instructions given to you by Cast Members because they want to keep you safe, too.

Since it sounds like you're an avid walker or runner, have you participated in any of the runDisney events? Race weekends are held four times per year and feature events of varying distances for all skill levels. I've done a few myself over the years, and they are quite fun, even for someone like me who isn't regularly active. They often start very early in the morning, so if you are one who likes to get your run in before the sun rises, there just might be an event for you.

Jeremiah, I hope this has been helpful to you. Visit us again soon if you have any other planning questions we can help with.

    Grab hold of your dreams!
