Hi, Nicol! It's great to see you back here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
I am so excited to hEAR that you are planning to attend
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party! The
holiday season is one of my favorite times to visit Walt Disney World Resort, and nothing puts me in the Christmas spirit quite like this festive yuletide event. There is so much to see and do at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, so it is a good idea to prioritize your must-do activities. Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show and the Once Upon a Christmastime Parade are the two activities that I make sure to experience every time that I attend this event. I am happy to tell you that you can definitely catch the fireworks and parade both during one party.
While the event schedule for this year's Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party has not yet been announced, I can tell you that during the previous year's parties, the Once Upon a Christmastime Parade had two showings. The first parade took place around 9:00 p.m., and the second parade made its way through
Magic Kingdom Park around 11:00 p.m. In my experience, Minnie's Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show typically takes place in between the two parades, around 10:00 p.m. When you arrive at the party, be sure to pick up a party map and double-check the times for these shows so that you can plan your evening accordingly. If you don't mind staying up late, it's a good idea to plan on attending the later parade performance. Families with young Mouseketeers often leave the party after the fireworks, so crowds for the second parade tend to be a bit lighter.
In addition to the parade and fireworks, when I attend Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, I like to visit some of the unique characters that you don't find in the parks every day. I also enjoy experiencing the attractions that have special holiday overlays. Flying through
Space Mountain with holiday lighting and music at last year's party was a blast! I would also recommend catching a performance of A Frozen Holiday Wish. What could be more magical than watching Elsa transform
Cinderella Castle into a glittering ice palace?
